Default RIP off merchants

I have just taken part in a survey about making business’s make it more understandable when signing a legal document, or borrowing money. Does the money part ring a bell? I added a rider about the rubbish that is being put on the market for motor vehicles, and said it was about time that the government did something about people being ripped off with consumables that are on the open market, but mostly the internet.
I said about one particular item that many people have concerns about because of the safety aspect with vehicles.
I will let you know if it goes anywhere.

Good luck but don't hold your breath!

The amount of fraud on the internet now is truly shocking. Also, the number of lenders offering usurious interest rates should be cracked down on.

I heard a good story about supposedly a Russian chap who very carefully altered his finance agreement to include a clause that in the event his repayments were unilaterally increased, his debt would be voided. It went to court where when the bank complained the document had been altered. The judge asked why they didn't read the small print before agreeing the loan? Case awarded against the bank. Possibly an urban legend, but I did enjoy the thought. Some lenders are offering over 400% APR with the unilateral right of the lender to change the rate upwards. Truly disgraceful for this to be legal.
