Default ZT T rear shocker replacement

Is this a fairly straightforward DIY job?
I'm ok with removing the interior trim but are there any problems with compressing the shocker to fit it ?

The shock absorber isn't spring loaded.----

You just need to support the rear hub - use a jack and raise it slightly to take the spring pressure on the trailiing arm and then you can undo the lower shock absorber to hub bolt.

be careful when you put the bottom bolt back in to make sure it is not cross threaded.

Well, job done now but not without a struggle. Both the bottom link bolt and the upper mounting nut were locked solid. next time I tackle this job I will proceed as follows:-
Release internal trim to expose upper mounting bolts by removing two hard points and the cover retaining point(this on a tourer I might add).
Remove the upper mounting point rubber cover by carefully levering round the edge with a small screwdriver.
Apply penetrating oil to the nut and both ends of the link bolt, go and have some lunch.
Using a miniature propane torch (https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/224509217...gAAOSw2V1g1I1G)
to avoid setting fire to the surrounding insulation,heat the nut and it should release.
Undo the two mounting studs.
Heat the boss of the bottom mounting arm until the rubber starts to smoulder.Then using the longest lever you have(at least two feet long),put your foot on the end and press. I used my torque wrench set to 300NM ( know I shouldn't but.....)
When the old unit fell out, I was amazed to see the amount of corrosion on the rod.
