Default 190 brake upgrade

Hi. I’m in need of new discs and pads on my 75 1.8 Turbo and considering the possibility of upgrading it to the MG ZT 190 set up.

Is it worth it?
Do I just need the 190 calipers, discs and pads?
Straight bolt on?
Will my existing 17” Serpents fit over them?

Hi Rav,
I did the same swap some years ago and found it is definitely worth it. Yes it is a straight swap. You will need the carriers with the caliper and then discs and pads. There is talk of changing the flexi but there is no need.
As it happens my discs are life expired and I have ordered some Delphi discs and pads from eBay for £86. Can't comment if they are good as they haven't arrived yet but come with a 3 Yr guarantee and I believe a quality brand.

I done it on the typhoon years ago and it's well worth it.

Serpents won't clear the calipers unfortunately. They might with some small spacers. I believe I saw a post years ago where someone got the serpents to fit over the front calipers by shaving down the inside of the spokes slightly?
