Check engine light not turning on
Hello everyone,
I have a problem with the check engine light. When I turn the key to position II, the check engine light don't appear on the dash. But, I run a speedo lights test and here the bulb it's working: LINK Maybe the previous owner cut some cables and the check engine light will not turn on? The ECU it's dry, never been to swimming lessons. |

Unplug your MAF sensor and then turn the engine on.... does the Light then come on?

Nope, still off.
Maybe it's a fuse? A broken wire? Something it's blocking the ECU for that start up check. The immobiliser has something to do with that? Also, the seatbelt warning light doesn't light up, this might have something in common? Last edited by Alexandru.Edward; 20th June 2018 at 23:49.. Reason: EDIT |

The earlier diesels don't illuminate the check engine light as a self test with key to position II.

I thought I read that somewhere but didn't want to post it as I wasn't 100% sure.

Thanks for help. I thought something was wrong with the ECU. Didn't know that earlier versions don't take a self test for check engine.
