Default miffed and walking

Had a TIA (mini stroke) at the weekend that left me in hospital for 2 days.
I don't fit any of the criteria for it (don't smoke, don't drink not overweight, quite fit and at 49 not in the normal age category for being at risk)

I work for myself and as a result of having a TIA I'm not allowed to drive for a month so I'm not working for a month and have to see the doctor for an all clear to drive once the month is up.
If I have another TIA in this month the wait before I'm allowed to drive is 3 months from that attack. Also I would then have to inform the DVLA. Got to inform my insurers anyway so my premiums are going to go up.

I seem ok now, but I'm now paranoid about having another turn.
Trouble is every time I get any type of twinge now I am constantly thinking the worst.

Sorry to hear about that - an unnerving experience no doubt. Have the medics put you on any preventative medication?

Very sorry to hear this Gary.
At least it wasn't a big one, and you are now on their radar to keep an eye on you.
I hope it is a one-off and you will be back behind that steering wheel soon.

Make a speedy recovery and take time to relax. Last year I kept loosing the sight in one eye the opticians didnt seem concerned. GP was on the ball and I got an appointment with specialist the main artery in neck was blocked causing TIAs needed surgery to rectify. I found it hard not driving but enjoyed it more when I was back on road. Take care Dave

Relax, take it easy, worry doesn't help. Once the warfarin kicks in you should be fine.....

Sorry to hear that, try and relax and find something to take your mind off focusing on every twinge your body makes, easier said than done
