INFO: Inner + Outer Tie rods
Hi all,
Just wanted to share with you that inner and outer tie rods for our cars are completely interchangeable with VW Sharan/Ford Galaxy. Especially inner tie rods which are not available as OEM separate parts and are sold together with complete steering rack (should I point out the price difference ) Inner tie rods - Top is a new one for VW Sharan/Ford Galaxy, bottom is the original Rover/MG Part number : Delphi TA1673 Outer tie rods Left + Right: Delphi TA1850 Delphi TA1849 |

That's a brilliant find, well done mate. Always found it strange that mgr never listed it as a separate part

Good work. Perhaps a seperate furum for an interchangeable parts list would be a useful reference as MGR parts begin to dwindle...
Apologies if there already is one |

Anything is possible....
Indeed a worthy discovery (apologies for not coming across this sooner)..... Question.... Are these a "standard" across the range, or only applicable to certain models?

When replacing these, does anything else need to be replaced?

Should have been more clear: Do these sit under one of the bellows, and if so: Is the bellows filled with grease and does it need to be replaced with the inner tie rod?
Rimmers drawing is completely useless and the days are too short for me to get under the car! |
