Default Metal Tail-light brackets

I made replacement struts for the fixing brackets out of slices of plastic guttering.
I used a combination of superglue & small self-tappers to attatch tthe new brackets.

It's neither as robust as the original plastic fitting nor the steel, but it's been working happily for about 5 years now.???

Thank you for the Rawlplug idea.
I actually picked it up from someone who referenced this page, but I've not actually seen the photo's yet.

Hopefully the job I've done, which is currently working, will tun-out to be the 'approved' fix & I won't have to worry about doing it again.!!!

Talking

One of my Tourer rear light clusters is currently held in place by good old gafa tape...I take it that won't be acceptable for the MOT? Though it has stopped them from falling off these past 6 months or so...

Default The nut inserts

Forgive me if I have missed it somewhere. I have rebuilt the fixings on the lights using brackets. I have in the shed the E-Zee crimping kit to replace the nut inserts in the car body. The existing inserts seem quite good and not sure if I should get them out or just use them again. Of course the worry is that they will spin when next I need to take the lights off. Any thoughts/ suggestions welcome.
