Default Help! Lost the bolts for spring protectors....

Any idea on size and type? My garage lost the bolts before they could fit the protectors (RSC000131) to my new struts .....they said they were self tapping bolts??
Part number(s) or size and description would be gratefully received.....

This recall action bulletin from MGR shows details of the screws, which appear to be tapered.

Rimmers sell the complete kit including bolts: https://rimmerbros.com/Item--i-RSC000131

They list the bolt part numbers as RSD000050 & RSD000060 but don't seem to sell them separately.

Try Wilco if there's one near you, as they sell a great assortment of likely "suspects".

These can still be attached using nuts and bolts

Even better with nuts and bolts. I wasn't impressed with the self tapping bolts' tightness with the last pair I fitted so drilled a separate hole and added a 6mm nut and bolt on each side.

Many thanks for all your replies! I have found an ebay seller with RSD000060, but at £8 for two, seems a little steep! No sign on RSD000050 anywhere.

I do have a specialist engineering shop near me in Camberley, so as I was going today on another errand, I will ask there. Failing that I will take Mike's and Stocktake's advice and just fit nuts and bolts.

Thank you all

If your garage lost the bolts, should it not be up to them to sort replacements?

I have it on good authority that the bolts are toroidal self tappers and are used elsewhere on the car; rear diesel fuel cooler air deflector and on the xenon sensors.
