repairs to circuit board
Can any one help me,
I have a Milling machine and a small circuit board has burnt out. Part of the tracking as gone and a trasistor as melted two of the legs. The problem is that I cannot find a replacement board. I have tried to obtain a complete speed control unit but can only find one supplyer who is in Canada, which would prove very costly. So my question is "doe's any one know of a company" in this country who would look at the board and possibly repair it. The Milling machine is used mainly for making "Gerry Tees" and I need to sort it out has soon as posible. I can send photo's of the board via e-mail if any one would like to see it. Thank you, Gerry. |

If this is a single layer board, then anyone who is handy with a soldering iron could probably fix it.
Can you post a pic of the damage?

Sorry but I do not know how to post photo's on the forum but if any one would like to send me there e-mail address I would be very happy to send as many as you need. I do know that it is a single layer board but as for my being able to solder so small is an other matter.
I had a stroke sometime ago and controlling my hand to so fine a degree is very difficult. |

It is a double sided pcb, looks like it can be repaired fairly easily but some of the other components will need checking out with a multimeter to make sure they are not damaged and the transistor will need replacing.
Can you read the part number of the transistor on the flat side? as long as we know what it is it should not take long to get it up and running again. Last edited by Anthony & Maricel; 21st April 2011 at 19:53.. |

Top line, " 2N" Second line, "5551 " Third line, " BO11" If you think you may be able to help with the repair , the board is only 10 X 7 X 3.5 cm. high, so I could quite easy post it for you to look at. Gerry |
