What a pain!
First proper day out in the TF today, glorious weather, top down & Mrs Pumpwater decided she wanted to go to Barnard Castle.
I was just a few minutes from home & passed a BMW (1 series) half parked on the pavement, didn't notice there was someone inside. Just as I drew level she swung open the drivers door & smash went the N/S mirror. I drove a little way up & turned around to see her scuttling across the road to a house on the other side. As I drew close she had another woman with her from the house. The first thing she said was "what you going to do like", I said she will have to pay for it (some hope!) but she went on the offensive & said she wasn't opening the door, & she was backed up by the other woman who said she was watching from the upstairs window. They were both covered in tattoos & built like brick sh*t .............. s She accused me of driving too close, I could only have hit her wing mirror & I wasn't close enough, anyway it was undamaged. Then as a parting shot she said I shouldn't be driving as I'm too old & that hurt most of all, although 72 I'm quite sprightly for my advanced years! So now I'm going to have to source a mirror, it's the black mirror surround that is in several pieces & left on the road, so if I can get one I can probably get away with not having to paint it

Unfortunately there are some hateful dubious people who drive, and in other walks of life, who find it impossible to admit anything they have done. I won’t tell you what I have done in the past, suffice to say, and it was a woman, it cost her more than me. I don’t carry grudges, but I can tell you I won’t be crossed.

I'm sorry that this has happened. You are caught between a rock and a hard place, report to her insurance and you too will more than likely get clobbered at renewal.
Even if you report to police it could back fire on you. Time for a dash cam? Mind you, at 72 and driving an old banger you don't care about, you could be forgiven for colliding with her car some time in the future "Accidents" happen macafee2 |

Had one a while ago with my old 75. 20-30 yards of cars parked either side of the road, enough room for one car to get through. I was well on my way through when a woman in an old Corsa came flying down the road, spacial awareness obviously wasn't a strong point as she thought there was room for two cars. Took my driver's door mirror off along with her own, she didn't even brake never mind stop.

Thanks for the info Brian, I passed this place some time ago & thought I should call in. In fact I have ordered one from the Bay so it's coming next week, wrong colour of course but the only N/S one on there. I should check him out for the 75 so thanks for the link
