Best battery for the 2.0v6 petrol auto please, any recommendations?

This might be an unusual recommendation , but I have always found Halfords own batteries excellent . Not cheap , but in terms of guarantee and convenience they are good . Battery life and performance has always been excellent , and they will dispose of your old one for you .They will sort out the appropriate size for you .

Thanks chaps.
I presume I should go for a “096” model battery as these appear to be biggest/best that are compatible? Only thing is, these are bigger in size than my current battery. Has anyone fitted these (such as bosch S5) which have 190mm height, and 175mm width (the length of 278mm is fine as my curent battery is a couple of mm bigger anyway) Cheers Last edited by daveycooper; 28th May 2018 at 09:46.. |

A 096 or a 100 is the correct size. Avoid huge battery sizes that then mean it cannot be held down properly in the tray.
Bosch S5008, Exide EA722 are good example of batteries that fit. Last edited by MSS; 28th May 2018 at 11:55.. |

Brilliant.....ah yes, I see the excide comes in a height of 175mm, which is perfect for getting the battery lid on. The other 190mm height batteries will, I suspect, mean that the lid is either a very tight fit or even that the lid would have to stay off.
Many thanks for this! |
