I don't know what the photographer was using camera wise, but he managed to focus brilliantly on my second chin

Just answered my own question by checking the properties of the photo:-
Canon EOS7D
f/5.6
1/320 sec
ISO-500
Focal Length 340mm
Metering - centre weighted average
No flash, compulsory
