So now I'm on the lookout for:

Offside rear suspension arm
Offside rear coil spring
Nearside front upper anti roll bar linkage
Offside rear anti-roll bar linkage
both front suspension arms

Hi David.
Rear springs should really be fitted is pairs.

Rear OS suspension arm I would contact (Mickyboy) to see if he as a good one along with the spring, other wise once again you may as well do both.

He may also be able to sort you out with front suspension arms that is if you do not want to go for new ones ?

I may have to.

Just waiting for the garage to call back and tell me if it's the upper or lower arms that need replacing..

Colin Lauderdale had springs and a lot of this stuff the other day on Facebook. I don't know what prices he charges, but might be worth asking. Someone else was selling secondhand very good arms on there too.

I had a spring go on the black one and front springs on my diesel. When they, go, they go on these I don't think the links are expensive new?

I feel bad this has happened, but I truly had no idea. I had been under the black one myself, but a garage did Bones waxoyl.

You honestly have no reason to feel bad Dawn. Bones is 20 years old, and to be honest has lasted far longer that many newer cars. Keep in mind that all the parts you've already replaced were still in excellent condition - It's just the original parts of the car that are failing now.

In any event, I've asked Mickeyboy if he can hook me up, so I should be able to get Bones back to snuff for far less than 800 big ones.

Fingers crossed he has all that she needs! Just got the lower mount finally done on Paul's. I am dreading that's MOT, as my sister in law arranged the one on it before I picked it up, and I honestly don't trust it. Car seems okay to me, but well...you never know. Tiny bit of wear on my brake pedal too - am now paranoid and might just get a new cover before next MOT as they're only £7 new on Rimmers.

It states’pin or Bush’? Well, is it the pin, or is it the Bush? Don’t they know. Sounds a bit like jackanory story to me.

Dawn. You can also fit a 400 series Rover one. They are the same. I got a 400 one from the scrappies that was nearly new 50p.

Another update - Got a pair of brand new suspension arms for £190. Add to the £70 for the other parts and £150 for labour, that results in a saving of close to £400.

Once again huge thanks to Mickeyboy - You've saved me a d@mn fortune.
