Default FBH remote question

I've just tried to start the parking heater (FBH) by remote (all factory fitted - have timer and telestart options). Remote flashed orange quickly for about 10 seconds then off and did not pulse red slowly (as it would normally do when starting and running).

I opened car and started it manually using the armrest button. Kicked into life fine.

I noticed the time was not set (had removed battery a while ago). So I just pressed the set time button to set to midnight. Is this why the remote did not start the FBH?

Pressing the remote "on" button (while the FBH is running) and the remote flashes slowly red (as normal).

Still doing this last night (orange light on remote flashes quickly for around 10 seconds, but does not start the FBH).

Any thoughts?

Could the rapid light flashing be the remote asking for a new battery?

If the battery has been disconnected, you will have to pair the fob with the controller again.

Remove fob battery and replace
Pull the Telestart power fuse (or disconnect battery lead).
Wait 10 seconds
Replace fuse (or battery lead).
After 2 seconds but within 5 seconds hold the OFF button down for more than 1 second
Done.

But, most likely this. I had the battery disconnected for a few hours recently whilst I refurbed my starter motor.

Thanks both for your input.

Nothing likely about it, if you have disconnected the battery, your fob will have lost its pairing with your controller

I'm having the same problem with my remote fob although the clock and manual switches still work fine and I have just realised it started after my battery packed up and was renewed.

Do you know which number is the Telestart fuse Rob and is it in the box under the glove box or the one in the engine compartment?

I'm going to do this tonight. Should be fuse 37 in the later under glovebox fuse box.

Thumbs up All sorted.

Just to finalise this. Removed fuse, replaced then re-synced remote. All working fine now.

Thats great news unfortunately I have the earlier fuse box and can't see any reference to the fuse in my handbooks.
