It is snake season here and after my encounter with the big snake the other evening, I watched "Skyfall". I had seen it before but it helped me to relax. I have complied with Andy's request for a photo. The snakes come out early evening just after dark or before dark when it is cooler for them to travel across the grass.

I could not find the snake to photograph, sorry Andy I did try and I have laid down snake repellent around the outside of the house as we do not want them inside. Some people love snakes, but I am not one of them.

Most of the snakes in Kenya are deadly. The one I saw round the back looked like a Cobra. One film I will not watch is "Snakes on a plane", but each to their own

Morning Phil morning all, Thank you the cottage pie went down a treat with some cabbage
The smattering of snow that few yesterday is frozen on the ground, It says 1C on the temperature gauge in the conservatory but it feels colder than that, must be getting old, it's another big cardigan day.

Thanks Phil and Jessica - support from you and many other members of the LCOZ means a lot to me.

G'day all - another busy day on the telephone organising things - being occupied at the moment seems like a good idea.
Looking at the sky, and allowing my nose out into the fresh air, I fear a pretty cold night coming on. We had a light covering of snow/sleet last night - which hasn't really thawed during the day, despite some bright, but obviously cold, sunshine.

Keeping busy putting things together keeps your mind busy, helps to stop you thinking about the 'what if's'. Once everything is sorted then it all drops into place.
Take care Rod. Thinking of you and family.

Evening all, van trouble again , on Tuesday I had a working screenwash pump, yesterday after a -5 frost, I did not. The wipers would work but no water pumped. Same today, put some boiling water on screenwash reservoir, but still it wont work. Took plug off and tested with earth to live test lamp. No live to the plug when washer is operated. Checked fuse, only one side lit up,replaced it and tested, both sides lit up but still no live at the plug. Pump works ok when attached to a battery, any ideas anyone?
