Just been looking at some of the daily CAZ charges.

Birmingham for example will be charging.

Private cars = between £6 & £12.50/day

light commercial vehicles over 3.5 tonnes = £12.50/day

Taxi's & private hire = £12.50/day

HGV's including buses & coaches = £50 to £100/day

I wonder how something like this will effect people who have home deliveries etc or ring for a taxi within the zone!!!

Probably be the only option for most looking at the CAZ (clean air zone) chart plans for 2020.
44 councils have applied, Is your town on it? https://www.google.com/maps/d/viewer...2170265251&z=5
Interesting info on CAZ.

Did you notice that under Scotland it only talks about Wales ???---

I suspect the £12/day for a taxi or delivery van will be a relatively small incremental percentage over the day's fares/deliveries.

I see that Hounslow Council is one that is considering charging a workplace parking levy. In my view, it is about time this was done. I made a recent post with streets in Hounslow in mind. https://the75andztclub.co.uk/forum/s...9&postcount=34 It was not universally liked (), but the problem is that in Hounslow and similar areas there are too many cars on the roads and too many cars owned per household. Yet the public transport links to the area are such that no one needs to drive to work. Any initiatives that makes cars less affordable for the majority of drivers in such areas have my support.
