Fabulous stuff !
There are some who call all garages worse than muck, only there to part you from your hard earned in return for shoddy work, but it goes to show there are some good ones out there I agree with the sentiments previously posted, and say give them a plug, as well as a case of beer for the lads at Christmas Alf |

The garage in question was PD Motor Services on the Hobbs Barracks Industrial Estate, Lingfield. The owner, Paul, has been an absolute Godsend not only in keeping the 75 on the road but also providing rip-off-free repairs and maintenance for my other two cars.

We should all give thanks that there are still gifted and honest garages about to give us a good service , and are sufficiently generous to occasionally do people a favour. They truly are few and far between. If I lived your way I would be having my MOT done by them, and any servicing i need. All I can say is ‘lucky you.’

I wouldn't be too sure about being Russell's experience being unique Simon. I've used a garage I was recommended to by a chap with a 75 who had nothing but good things to say about their work. The bread and butter jobs I don't have any problem doing, but sometimes the more technically challenging things evade me. The owner John has not only helped me out with hard to obtain parts, diagnosed with his T4 machine a running problem which had me stumped for weeks, but also allowed me the very generous loan of some of the more specialised tooling to do various jobs for myself. As it happens, I popped into his garage today not because I have anything wrong with my car, but to drop off a bottle for the Christmas season my way of saying thanks for the help I've received. Goodwill costs very little, and like the original poster of this thread my car as been saved from being scrapped by the kind actions of a generous and knowledgeable garage. Alf |
