Haha . So that plug should be in my car already?
What's the route of the current loom? Should I take out everything? I'm also waiting for a complete HK setup.

From what I understand most cars have the 17 pin plug deep in bottom left hand side of centre dash. I had an original Kenwood unit which was plugged into ISO plugs, but these were on a short loom which went behind dash down to the BMW plug, just matter of unplug and connect.

You will have small plug also with BMW plug this needs to be connected in also for the road speed sensors to give the 'dead reckoning' position.

There is a thread on loom path, I will try find it. Basically from BMW plug to the right, in front of the right seat, along sill and towards rear of car, as passes I to boot it splits main to boot, smaller loom up towards c pillars for aerials and GPS receiver. ReMing loom goes to wheel well for radio and tv units.

Very very useful information.

A few questions for now are.

Should i remove the old loom?
How to remove the current HU?
Can i use my current dash mounted GPS receiver?
The GPS receiver is a drimble one... there is a seperate box too, what is that?

You don't have to remove it but taking up space where new one will go.
I'm not conversant with lowline system I'm afraid
I would use the one with highline, but someone else may say different
If u have a Trimble unit would suggest you have a MK1 or 2 Satnav, if it is a MK3 you won't need the Trimble box, just plug aerial straight into nav unit.

Called an ex RoverMG dealer in Holland for information. They said that T4 is not necessary and that the highline will work.
Is that correct? And if not, what can i do?

You do not need a T4 session when installing the Hi Line system. It's plug and play.

Mine worked fine without T4.

Aah ! Now you mention my trip computer on the Hi Line monitor did not work until I had a T4 session.

I had forgotten the trip computer but everything else worked fine.

One of the Launch 75's [Stocktake] does not have the trip computer option and his was factory fitted, so some 75's have it and some do not.

There is an option in the T4 menu to switch on the Hi Line system. The only thing that changed on mine was to switch on the trip computer.

I concur regarding T4, highline will work perfectly well without it, the T4 enables the onboard computer only. Although I have read it isn't a T4 function directly, they just do something that enables it to work, if that makes sense.
