Morning Andy, it’s not cold this morning, but just a slight cooler with a bit of cloud stopping the sun shine.
The weather for the weekend and all next week is going to be up to 3 to 4°,
with snows once or twice , I wish the weather would improve so I can start doing a few regular routes with warmer temperatures.

Morning all,A bit late on parade this morning, internet playing up

Had a message from Sky yesterday saying the prices are going up in April by £10 per month,it will be their loss, as I will pull the plug on BT sports, not worth £25 per month in my opinion, so in theory my bill will be £15 per month cheaper.

Several people I know had IPTV which is dodgy, they have been switched off by the police

Cost of living on the up and up Steve.

We have just had our Broads Authority boat river toll renewal come through ready for April.
13% increase on last years toll

Still, got to keep Mr Packman's hairbrained schemes (National Park anyone) well funded

Is that the CRT Canal & River Trust Licence Jeff? I read that narrowboaters were complaining about the rise this year,

Cool

Been beautiful day, well it was till a passing truck on the A38 threw up a rock and hit Banana on the windscreen frightened the wotsit out of me. Only took her out to get some petrol. So now will have to phone the insurance company and report it. It’s a bullseye hit but it’s in my line of vision.

Managed to get the washing out on the line, dried lovely

Got some work done on the Lotus, only took 4 hours.

Salmon, spinach and lemon fish cakes for tea with a few chips.

Morning all, morning Steve

It will pay you to shop around for a better deal.

When we returned to Nairobi, I stopped my subscription to cable TV and bought a smart TV which enabled us to get TV programmes from anywhere in the world including the UK.

For the installation I am not a geek and got TV / internet engineers in to boost the WiFi signal and to wire in the Ethernet cable to the TV upstairs.

I still pay for a television licence in the UK and using a VPN, I am able to use the BBC and ITV.

We now have Netflix and Prime which we do have to pay for and there is always something to watch on YouTube.

Last night we watched Poirot and Heartbeat.

I have not been able to access Freeview in the UK, but still learning about these things.

Following your experience and post Steve, thank you

I have just double checked my UK phone and internet contract which still has 13 months left on it to run at £22.49 per month (Plusnet)

By coincidence Plusnet emailed yesterday saying due to rising costs, they are increasing the monthly fee by £3.30. I wonder how they arrive with these magical figures, why not just round it off to £3. But what do I know

It is said…….

“If you watch the pennies, the pounds look after themselves”.

Have a great weekend

You are spot on there Jeff, plenty of pen pushers in Dragonfly House, that National Park chestnut was doing the rounds when I was an owner,I think they live in dreamworld.

I have not had my boat for 11 years,I still get toll reminders etc from them, even though I called in person and told them I no longer own the boat.

I had similar a few years back,A sugar beet came off the back of a lorry, and smashed my front bumper and headlight to smithereens.
