Sticky bonnet release latch
The little lever inside the car does not return after pulling it to release the bonnet, I've already inverted the cables in the box under the bonnet and sprayed lube into the latch holes on the slam panel but still no success is there an easy fix

Thread moved to a more appropriate forum. Re-direct left in old. This may be the better forum as threads get ‘lost’ very quickly in the General Forum.
I presume that you can actually open the bonnet ? If not, then please PM me, or another Mod for more help

when this happened to me it was the cables to the bonnet latches had rusted/worn/covers split,, picked up good condition latches and cables from a low mileage car at breakers,,, its not a hard job to replace them , just a few bolts and some wood to wedge up the upper panel to allow the latches to be pulled out.

Likely one or both of the cables from the splitter to the latches are sticking.
Worth removing them, checking for any fraying or corrosion and replacing them if required. |

have you tried "loosening" the 2 bolts holding the catches in place slightly? that worked for me.. I then cleaned them with brake cleaner, lubricated them, then re-nipped them up.. not had any more probs since...

Haven't investigated too deeply yet, which bolts do you mean?

either side of the 2 round catches , loosen them slightly allows the catches within the holes to open and close more easily and not stick, in your case i dont think this is enough to cure your sloppy bonnet release handle, i think your cables are caput !!

The handle inside the car does return if I manually pull the cables back at the decider box, I think I'll try cleaning and lubricating first.
