What is that bush out of Mike?

By the looks of the small air gap that bush will rubbing on the "end stops" during low gear acceleration?

That's why the originals have such a large air gap to keep the cushioning properties constant throughout the torque range

Fix a poor handbrake; DIY ABS diagnostic unit; Loan of the spanner needed to change the CDT belts; free OBD diagnostics +MAF; Correct Bosch MAF cheap; DVB-T install in an ex-hi-line system; DD install with a HK amp; FBH servicing.

I've taken a vow of poverty. To annoy me, send money.

I paid £25.56 delivered a couple of months ago.

When I get a bit of spare time Jules I'll check to see if the bush bottoms out under either normal running conditions or full load.

If it is the former then not a problem in this car as Mrs Noc never drives it like she stole it!

Question

I remember this thread and recall the search for an alternative being largely driven by reports of difficulty in obtaining OEM engine mounts at that time or indeed anything suitably similar. In fact I think that they were once marked as NLA by some sites and prices nudged towards ~ £100 when the odd one did crop up. How times have changed to a period of relative plenty but it is good to see that people are still willing to try something different. I've noticed that the odd pic has vanished from some of my posts over time and while I've managed to fix a broken link or two I will have to see what can be done about what remains to be fixed.

This thread is a bit of a blast from the past and some of its contributors are no longer with us. But in keeping with their spirit it would be nice to see another thread, a sister thread so to speak, for a cheaper alternative to maybe something like the hydramount. Click

Peugeot/Citroen I've noticed have something similar to our hydramount which might be of interest and it is available from a number of ebay sellers for less than £6. The part numbers to search it for are 184373, 184437 or 184442 and you can see the similarities in this pic here: Click As to whether it is a goer or not on our cars remains to be seen but is it worth exploring, starting a new thread or maybe not?

My view is to keep the same thread.

Too many new threads just dilutes the info making more difficult to search for.

Brand new OEM mounts are £50 these days so it's not really worth seeking alternatives ........for the diesel anyway

As long as they are the same quality as the original part then I don't mind paying that.

But many supposedly OEM parts are being reanufactured in India and China these days and in some cases the quality just isn't there.
