Was the short life cooling fan issue in there?
If not should be somewhere near the top of the checklist

Images in some of the links don't work Colin - e.g. the 'Seat wiring & airbag pictures' link in your post 6 goes here but there are no pics any more. Maybe the author has left the club since then.

Knowing from where and who you bought it from I think you needn't have too many worries. However, as this club will prove, you will get paranoid whenever you read about other people's issues.

There's also a standard set of fixes and mods that most of us have followed and worth checking if your new baby has had them done; handbrake compensator, fan resistor, plenums to name but three. That and a good weekend spent rustproofing (or derusting and then...) will keep you busy. Plenty underneath that deserves all the attention you can give it; rear arms, backplates, sills, fuel tank strap, rear subframe etc. And I only know all this as I was in your shoes two years ago with my ( former Summit supplied) 190 ZTT.

Thank you for your advice. The car over 16 years old, and still (in my opinion) a classic design that has fared well. Lucky to buy it from an MG dealership not too far from where it was built. Don't plan to use it as a daily, just enjoy and look after. These pre-face V6 estate cars seem to be disappearing rapidly.

Are you still running the same 190 ZTT supplied by Summit?

Yes...I bought from the widow of the previous owner who bought from a chap who traded down from a £6k car for the ZTT from Summit. As part of the deal they addressed a number of maintenance tasks including, at 46k miles, the belts and pumps. That was in 2012 IIRC and it's now on 65k. Insured with Pete Best for 2k per year on their classic car policies.

Built two days before the factory shut in April 20005 and then not registered until August 2006
