thanks for this thread - shame the pictures have gone!

I'm trying to find a suitable product to clean the drains (pipe brush) but I'm struggling. could anyone point me towards the right direction?

thanks

Inner liner of a MIG torch.

That is a spiral used inside the torch of a CO2 welder. It is flexible and hollow, and you can blow compressed air through it.

Many other things can work too, just be careful when going from the tube into the outlet that you don't get them separated.
Sometimes it is enough to just go under the car and clean the last part of the pipe protruding into the wheel well.

In our experience the pipes themselves don't get blocked it's only the duckbills at the end behind each wheel arch which will need trimming off.

Then carry out Steve's mod with the 4 connectors.
We use four 2" pieces of standard hose pipe which works well.

Then test all 4 drains with water and watch it come out behind the arch liners.

Job done

is the outlet accessible by looking under the car or will I need to pull back the wheel arch liner as I've seen people suggest before?

sorry, just want to clarify.. when you say four connectors I assume you mean one for each of the 4 drains? Having just changed the carpets I'm quite eager to get this sorted out, especially given the amount of rain we will be getting.

as I understand it:

- use hose pipe to connect the two pipes
- cut off duckbills behind wheel arch liner (with a hacksaw I take it)

is that pretty much the long and short of it?

cheers

Yes you must pull back the liner and use a Stanley knife or similar on the duck bills.

From memory, it is a small flap behind/(under) the rear wheels, no need to remove the whole inner cover.
In front it might be similar, but I can't remember.

A pair of scissors!
works wonders every time you haven't got a cutting surface. Even for veggies and all sorts of things!
