I'm shocked.
The sun HAS put in an appearance .
And currently about 12 degrees so very pleasant for December .

Catching up on some old episodes of Silent Witness and what do I see - a Rover 75 - BX54GXG driven by the DSI - Phil Elliott (actor Nicholas Gleaves). Series 9 "Ghosts" Part 1. Looks like the MoT expired on 7th March 2020, so I wonder where it is now? Hopefully still with us?

That misty murky fog hasn't shifted all day. What a day! Missus appointment went OK so did a bit of shopping on the way back to get some curries & a garlic baguette for tea, Made a mistake & bought a Madras instead of Korma Sweet jeezus my mouth is on fire after just a taster

Silly season on the roads with three crashes in the space of a mile with impatience drivers.

Got to Bolton hospital for mams pacemaker appointment to be told we needn't have come, It was an online appointment apparently whatever one of those is No use to someone of Mams age who hasn't a clue about these things & the appointment letter said it was a physical appointment and to bring this letter with her. Got back to the car park thinking I was within the 15 minutes for free parking only to see it click over to 16 minutes past as I keyed in my registration

How did it go Jeff? Thank goodness there is a treatment and hopefully it is going to do the trick.

Didn't get to meet up with Rich while up there but had a good chat, and he's improving all the time.

The squirrels have totally demolished the bird feeders . Something else to sort out .

Take care.
Welcome back Andy, how annoying the squirrels ruined the bird feeders. Thank you for the update about Richard. Funny, I have never called him Rich or Dick. I have also been busy away from the forum. Getting ready for flights at the weekend to Dublin, Amsterdam and Nairobi, each country I am to visit requires a passenger locator form, proof of a negative PCR, the paperwork takes about 3 hours. Flying is stressful enough, okay I understand the reasons for the precautions. Scan yesterday. This morning I drove into the centre of Bristol to get the booster but was turned away, told to come back tomorrow, there were hundreds in the queue, mostly not wearing masks. I am supposed to be meeting up with my brother tomorrow but that’s been cancelled. Last Friday he went to a wedding in Chester. His grandson went with them and he has tested positive, he is aged 11. Although my brother has tested negative, we decided to avoid meeting up. Sorry I don’t have anymore suggestions I can say in public about the squirrels.

Evening Phil,

It went well (I think)

Had three different lots of drops administered to dilate pupils and then anaesthetise the eyes.
You then sit at an apparatus that is similar to the things you have eye tests with.
You have a sort of contact lens put in your eye that helps to target the laser and also holds your eyelid open.

Then the procedure begins, one eye at a time.
A bright green laser fires into different targeted areas of your eye. There is a small amount of discomfort when it lands on certain areas. Nothing too bad though.
Each eye has about 900 shots (these are multiple bursts) and takes about twenty minutes in total.

This procedure is due to be repeated again in two weeks time and once more after that.
Hopefully it will prove successful.

There is the possibility of some sight loss/impairment in your peripheral vision and I will have to have a special eye test for this after my last treatment.
The results of that test will be sent to the DVLA to determine that my vision is okay for me to still drive!

I had a bit of a headache for a few hours afterwards but that seems to have cleared up now and I feel fine and my vision (thankfully) seems all okay.

I took the decision not to go to work tomorrow as I didn't think driving for a 100 miles and then spending a few hours squinting through a camera viewfinder would be sensible.
The Consultant told me I would be okay to drive about six hours after the procedure. I don't doubt that but would rather give my eyes a chance to have a rest ....says me looking at a computer screen and tapping away!

Will be back to work on Thursday though so long as all is okay.

Hope you and Jessica are both well and all set for Christmas

The complications of diabetes are beginning to come home after 15 years since diagnosis .

I need to start trying to get better control of my blood sugars before further problems occur .

On that note…….back to bed for me !
