Thumbs up Engine query 190 or not!!!!

Can anybody help me with an issue my ZT 190 has miss matching engine number to the one on the V5. It has 90% of its 190 parts that i can identify i.e throttle is correct. Air box isn't correct as the last owner lost it when removing induction kit . So i have already sourced one to fit. I just want to verify from the engine that its correct for piece of mind.

Thank you in advance

Have a look at Rimmer Bros info sheet here.....
https://rimmerbros.com/c/Mg-Rover-75...le-Information
Part way down they list engine no. sequences , and it looks like the 3rd group for a 190 should be P02 or P59 or P60
Check this against the engine number on your car , on the n/s of the front bank below the cam cover .
As far as I know , the 190 has different camshafts to the 160 or 177 so if all else fails you could remove the cam covers and have a look ? Rimmers web site will give the part numbers .
Good hunting
