Angry Dead battery locked out

Hi guys,

Had an electrical fault & the battery is completely dead, got o lead clamped to the alternator lead bolt & the meter is showing only 1.5 volts. I attached a good battery to it and grounded it to the chassis but no joy. Tried my Ctek charger but I think it too smart & switches itself off.

I’m wondering if a jumper box would get enough juice in it to get the door open but I don’t have one.

Bit skint and it’s probably going to need a new battery so buying a jumper box for it not to work isn’t really an option.

Can someone advise me how to pm a mod who can tell me how to get the bonnet open please.

Every lesson learnt the hard way

If it’s a diesel jack it up and go in from underneath, put a lead on the starter motor + wire and an earth on the subframe and that will allow you to open the doors.

Apologies if I'm stating the bleedin' obvious but I take it the driver's door doesn't open with the key in the lock.

Same here!
It would be a very brave car manufacturer to build a car with no key hole for cases like this.

The door not unlocking with the key is not a rare problem. The physical connection between the lock mechanism and the door handle keyhole can come adrift.

Can I bump this back up to the top and ask where the starter is (when searching by feel from underneath) - Cheers chaps.

In between the radiator and the engine block about halfway up.
