I'm having a search now :
Item 14 - Spring isolator RBC100150 https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Rover-75-...IAAOSwavZezsQK https://rimmerbros.com/Item--i-RBC100150 Item 4 is the top mount bearing I think, often bought as part of the top mount assembly. https://rimmerbros.com/Item--i-RNX100081 Looks like I was stuck trying to obtain the bump stop washers previously as well. As above for item 4, and yes item 14 is the lower spring isolator, which you have listed twice, it's just a piece of rubber that goes round the last coil of the spring, I used the old ones.

Simon,
From memory, item No. 4 (RNJ100030) is a white plastic ring-washer/clip that sits inside the bottom opening of the dust cover - this clips the dust cover down on top of the damper to prevent ingress of water/dirt. You should be able to carefully remove these clips from the existing dust covers (if they haven't been changed before). I remember sourcing all these ancillary parts a couple of years ago. However, I realised when the time came to have the parts changed over that I needn't have wasted so much time trying to get them - most of the original washers etc. were fine when removed from the car. The washers that go around the top of the strut (in the engine bay - RNS100050) are NLA from pretty much everywhere (although I seem to remember that I got new ones from somewhere in Italy at the time). Again, the originals should be fine to reuse. EDIT: Item 7 is RNS100060 (originals should be ok). Cheers, Karl. Last edited by The Mighty Quinn; 13th June 2020 at 20:31.. |

Just had another look on the car and I can feel something under the bottom edge of dust cover #5. It must be #4 (as Karl said). I don't want to break anything by trying to peel the rubber back so I'll wait til the strut is off the car.

Yeah, it's a white plastic ring - these are quite brittle and easily damaged, so be careful taking the old ones out from under the dust cover. BTW, the sketch of the strut assembly is a little misleading (item 4 looks much bigger than the circumference of the dust cover - it isn't). Cheers, Karl. I hope I haven't broken it already - there was a distinct 'click' yesterday when I was poking around the bottom of the dust cover. That's when I decided to leave it alone until the strut is dismantled. The sketch is what threw me - item 4 looks closer to the diameter of 8 & 9 so I thought the dust cover went underneath it, even though it's shown as being above. Plus, the rear damper dust cover has nothing sealing it at the bottom. |
