Ball joint dust covers
Hi, is it practical to part and refit the lower front ball joints, to replace the boots, without disconnecting track rod ends, drop links and slackening off the strut top fixings to help with alignment of the bottom ball joint.
I had everything apart just over a year ago to change both springs and plenty of copper anti-seize grease applied on refitting, so its only the alignment problem I'm concerned about, for example what is the best position to have the steering in. Yes, should be no problem.
Having changed both springs before you must know if it was difficult or not from your own experience.--- |

Yes but then everything was back together before anything was tightened up, including the hub nut, just don't want to start undoing things unnecessarily.

Yes it's easy enough to do. I've done this job after splitting both the boots on the outer balljoint of the wishbones while changing struts. Ordered the boots and went back in a week or so later. Only had to break the joint to replace the rubber boots. Didn't have to disturb anything else.
