1.8T Clutch Problem
Hi Guys.
Does anybody have any ideas? Car has been driving fine then went to change gear and all of a sudden I can’t push the clutch peddle down. There has been no problem with clutch slipping or the gear box and it hasn’t lost any fluid. I have had a quick look around and there is nothing obvious wrong. All sugestions welcome Cheers. Gary |

We'll need more details, but I'd suspect a mechanical fault in the pedal mounting box if the pedal is 'solid'.

It is most likely a mechanical problem in the linkage, in the master cylinder or with the slave in the box. The clutch plate itself might have jammed, how, I don't know.
Easiet is to move from pedal to box and check while someone peddles the pedal |

Well I’m starting to lose patience with this car now. I put sum pressure on the clutch pedal and now it goes straight to the floor and stays there unless you pull it up manually.

It sounds like something's failed in the pedal box to me. The pedal should have a return spring to bring it back. That seems to have come unhitched so I think I'd get into the pedal mounting and see what you can find.

If the pedal goes right to the floor you do have to help it on its way back up. If there's no sign of a fluid leak the seals must have gone in the master or slave.

The pistons in master or slave couldn't hold the pedal rock solid. There's nothing to stop the pistons from moving. Your foot pressure would easily move both.
