Finding myself in Lincoln yesterday I popped over to Rimmers and picked up a pair of tyre protectors

Neat work there Brian.
Just replaced the ABS modulator to rear offside brake pipe on the Landy for the MOT. I have now guessed the build sequence; weld the bodyshell together, paint it, fit the brake pipes and then everything else. Got a result with all the bends apart from the run up inside the front subframe - just couldn't get in with two hands to make it neat. So left it with enough spare in the pipe to make good when the subframe is next removed and I can smarten it up. |

Here are my Hippo front to rears I haven't refitted the subframe on the ZT yet following the new clutch, allowing unfettered access to most of the gash brake pipes, these replacements will outlast the car easily though, as the MOT expires on the 29th of December Brian |

I'm not going to give the MOT tester any excuse to issue an advisory for brake pipes being "greased" or other such nonsense. There are two pipes left to change and then there will be only the steel pipes from the master cylinder to the ABS modulator original to the car. You never know, I might get the duraglit out and polish them up polish them up like the copper pipework in gents toilets of old Anyway today's job in between real work, was to replace the top bearing on the driver's side MacPherson strut. Job finished, I turned the attention to the snapped bleed nipple in the OSF caliper, and now that's out, I can rehang the leg, refit the caliper and do a quick gravity bleed. Once the last two pipes are made and fitted tomorrow morning, I'll give the whole system a proper bleed using T4. Then I can refit the driveshafts, refill the gearbox, fit the subframe, and get on with the rear upper arm replacement, and fit the four new tyres that turned up at the workshop today. I'm actually looking forward to test driving it fitted with the new clutch. Onward and upwards Brian |

Yesterday not today.
Couldn't face a wet and windy evening driving round Cornwall for site visits in my van so took the 75 instead. Far more relaxing and comfortable. I passed 199k last week coming home from France, and yesterday went through 199,500 miles. So not too long now for the big 200k. It'll then be onwards towards the moon with any luck. After buying a set of Uniroyal rain experts earlier in the year I've finally given them a good wet road testing these last couple weeks. They cope very well at 70mph when encountering standing surface water on the dual carriageways. |
