There's the Health Department (a curious term I'll grant you) with all the associated Ministers/central London premises/staff/expensive cars and overseas fact-finding missions and then there's the mighty Trusts.
Add the huge pension provisions to the compensation losses (is that not insured by the way?) and the labyrinthine wriggling out of responsibility until the very last moment and the buck can be passed around till the cows come home. They do miracles every day as well, heaven knows how. Those that can do it, do it. Those that can't, get promoted - usually sideways as well as upwards. If anyone at all is in charge, it's Lady Luck. I was being treated by an exalted specialist who I was told no longer worked at the hospital I was attending for an appointment. He had walked past me in the waiting room not two minutes earlier, laughing. He was being paid a huge sum for amusing himself. They have no interest in ethics I'm afraid.

On drunks, the law was/maybe still is simple. Simple drunk or drunk and disorderly. Not the concern of the NHS but a problem dealt with by the police. Sometimes either ended up at the hospital by reason of some injury whilst in that condition. Simples! Chris.S.

If you can give as much open mind to that report as you do to the seriously faulty HMGOV waffle there doesn't seem much doubt. Not to me anyway.
I admit to a fondness for a gentle Irish brogue anyway, Welsh as well, so I'm sold on it as it confirms my position to the letter. Bet you won't see it on the BBC though.

The ubiquitous face mask now is getting the proportions of a muzzle. What next, no kissing?
So that's why every news clip from China was full of people with masks. Part of the one-child-only propaganda. Always thought their leaders had things the wrong way round.

NICE that wonderful institution of ill decision making and ineptitude.
They really don't like looking at anything except those studies that it had either approved or instigated They wouldn't accept what others had found and now it looks like the earlier trials, advice and evidence was correct after all Russ

The "rule of six" is quickly showing the inability of some to think for themselves. Yes, it won't affect me at all, but surely those thinking it will stop them meeting grandparents could just keep a couple of family members outside that meeting? They could then have another meeting for those excluded.
The original advice still stands, be wary, stay safe. |
