Number 50's C/L having a wobbly

The 260's central locking is having a wobbly..

with the remote it unlocks Ok all the time , but locking hmm.

. recently its been not wanting to lock.

Sometimes I can lock using the console button sometimes not.otherwise I have to go round the doors and lock each one with the button.

A battery Reset will cure the problems (and lose all the radio settings / trip readings

)

And if I leave the car for a while come back and its lost the idea how to unlock again ?.

Any clues peeps Ta .

Does the car have a sunroof? or water got inside somehow.

I wonder if water or damp has got onto the BCU (body control unit)

BCM and its innards and everything else behind the Glove box is nice a clean and Dry ? .

Now the Key working mostly? but the console button isn't

Will have a look as I have a taken apart V8 on the drive.... It happened to a 75 V8 of mine when the BCU got some water on it from me giving the bottom of the windscreen a bit of a clean when the scuttle panel was off....

I had some strange issues like the windscreen wipers working on there own, lock issues etc.

Could it be a simple issue of one door or boot slightly ajar or not closing correctly i.e the remote not allowing it to lock as one door is not shut.

Did battery reset last night and all OK ..

Left it overnight and this morning went out and unlocked with the remote.

Immediately locked all doors again with the remote, repeated this a few times and still OK ?

Got in the car popped key in the ignition but did not turn on .

locked and unlocked a few times with the console switch and still OK .?

and after playing with my new dash cam , went to lock the car and Nothing!!! .

got back in tried the console switch .. nothing .

Had to lock all doors manually.

So at the moment it will unlock all doors with the remote , but will not lock them with the remote or the console switch
It the same with my spare key.

Has the battery been flat at all, Kermit was doing strange things like this, i had to reconfigure all the ecus to cure it.

Nope battery is very good . never been flat since I got the car.

just recently started playing up in the last few days

Using the CdTi for Work so Battery disconnected for 2 days.

Connected back on this morning , unlocking and locking perfectly multiple times with both with key and the Console push button.

Spent a few min putting the glove box back . went for a short drive.

Back home and now it will not lock with either the key or the console button.

manually lock all the doors and it will unlock no problem ?
