I've just bought an M8 for my seat runners.

I've found that as the bolts go all the way through the chassis (at least, mine do on the back seats) they can rust from behind and are a nightmare to remove (as in, need a LOT of force). A new (well second hand) set of bolts made it 100x easier.

Well, I cut the yellow and blue connectors off under the passenger seat and soldered the wires together.

No difference – light still on, and “air bag fault” on the dash

Can the seats be removed by splitting the seat rails ,ie the 6 x 13mm nuts on each seat.

Yeah I’ll do them tomorrow. I just think I have a memory of a diag session saying it was the passenger side… hope my memory is wrong. On the bright side, it usually is.

I used a dremmel to make a slot across the head of the bolt and then hammered a impact slot bit into the bolt head and then used a 1/2" drive to undo the bolt - I think hammering the impact bit into place helped to loosen the rust that takes place on the tip of the thread that is exposed to the elements under the car.

I found a big set of Torx AND Ribe bits in my garage, which I'd obviously bought at some stage.

THAT'S how bad my memory is.
