Question Which clutch alignment tool?

I'm changing the clutch on a KV6.

Can some recommend a good clutch alignment tool?

If you're taking the gearbox all the way out, use your eye as you can easily get in there to see.

These are brilliant, used for the first time last year when replacing the clutch on the Sprite, and what a good idea.

Not very expensive either

I am taking it all the way out but I'm not sure I trust my eye even then.

I'll decide whether to get a tool when the box is off - I suspect I will.

That does look good. Very similar to this one suggested by Marinabrian in this thread (post 3).

I bought one years ago for about a fiver and it worked perfectly every time. I've got no idea where it went though.

That tool looks even better than the one I bought from Machine Mart for the same sort of money.

They are simple to use, clamping the clutch disc to the cover and allowing alignment to be accurate before bolting the cover to the flywheel.

In my case the gearbox plopped straight back in without any fuss.

To be fair, I'm glad my 75 is an automatic, I wouldn't want to change the clutch on one of these !!

To hell with waiting - I just bought it from Amazon for £7.92.
