Hydramount Top Nut - Loosening Query
Will be changing the thermostat on my diesel soon, looking at the size of the hydramount top nut, is it likely to twist the stud out of the mount as I loosen it ?
Just wondering if there's some sort of tool that I'll need to stop the torque from a breaker bar being transmitted straight into the rubber (and hence possibly ripping the stud part out) ?? Many thanks

I've never had any problems in the past & I've done many before (or should that be 'undone')
Just undo it as normal. |

Thanks Mike, I saw there was no mention of any tool in the workshop manual, just worried the rubber body might tear away around the stud

Thanks for the info and links Blink, but it was just the big top nut I was concerned about removing and possibly damaging the rubber in the mount.
I'll keep a look out for a full tool for when the whole hydramount needs replacing

Just a quick thank you to those that responded, I changed the thermostat yesterday (what a job....) and the top nut came off easily with no problems ! Cheers
