That's a bit trickier because to set the car into Programming Mode (for the PATS/immobiliser system, you need two working keys to add a third.

As already said, you can programme the remote lock/unlock feature with just the one key provided that key is in good working order.
You could also add a second key, get the blade cut & carry out the lock/unlock programming but of course this will only be any good for locking/unlocking (kind of defeats the object really).

So actually, losing the full-function key would disable the car anyway as you would only be able to get into it with the spare key, you wouldn't be able to start it. I didn't even think of that when we bought it. Good little motor though.
I'm beginning to see why such a value is placed on having two functional keys when a car is for sale.

I might end up having to use these people after all:

Yes, that's correct & the reason I always tend to make sure I have a fully working spare key for my vehicles.

If they're as good as their write up, they'll certainly be able to help you out.
Good luck.

First, you will struggle to get someone to cut the blade as most places won't even touch it.
I would recommend buying a new one personally.

And unless you have a T4 the remote function won't work anyway.
I can program a key and provide a half decent case, and point people local to me to a key cutters that will cut the blade for £10 :-). Much cheaper to go that route than the xpart way. (Unless of course you have no keys)

So the original message was about a Fix Or Repair Daily FORD.
So what I said before does not apply.

The original post was about a Rover 75 key & that got resolved I think & then a question was asked about a Fiesta Mk6 key from post #10 onwards.
