Default footwell panel removal

hi all can anybody tell me how to remove the footwell panel below the steering wheel i have removed the two screws but cant get it out it is loose but its as if there is something else holding it i did not want to force it in case i broke something thanks in advance

Remove the heater outlet as well, should just drop down after that

Have you removed the scrivet like clips with the 3 holes in them at the base of the panel? They unscrew - usually no problem with just your fingers if you wear rubber gloves, but if they are tight you can make something up to fit the holes.

Two small flat headed screwdrivers in the holes help to get them undone

Here's a little DIY tool I made for those 3 hole clips:

The latest mod is to put the "pins" onto a straight section of Allen key. If there's a crank it fouls the plastics. Use the Araldite to form a triangular shape for your fingers to turn.

The top part of the panel is held in place with clips into which the panel is pushed. Get your fingers behind the top and wrench it forward. Some of the clips pull off in the process but can be put back.
