Hello Brahim,

Here is the MG Rover procedure for refilling and bleeding your KV6. Whoever did the cambelt work probably didn't know about this so it's definitely worth trying.

If that doesn't work then the next thing to try is flushing the heater matrix in situ. If you can get access to the flow and return hoses in the engine compartment then that's the best way to do it.

Let us know how you get on.

Simon

It seems you have a matrix that's possibly air-locked from the recent coolant change. I assume it was OK before this work? If so, the first thing to do is to look at bleeding any trapped air from the system. This is discussed frequently on the forum and you'll soon find the details (also in the Haynes manual and RAVE).

If this is an older problem, the matrix is probably silted up on the passenger side.
The fix is discussed in this thread.

Hi, have you fixed the problem? I had this issue for quite some time but i only fixed it last week because its starting to get cold outside . On my case ( and most likely yours) the problem was that the heating matrix was clogged. I removed it from the car and cleaned it with some water tap cleaner. ( the one that dissolves limestone formed on the tap ). Now both sides are nice and warm.
It really isn’t complicated to remove the matrix from the side of the center console. First you have to disconnect the lower radiator hose to bleed coolant out of the cooling system then go inside the car, underneath the steering wheel, next to the accelerating pedal and remove the piece of trim covered in the same material as the floor carpet. You need to unscrew the screw holding the foot vent and after that you can remove the piece of trim. There will be two metal pipes that feed coolant to the heating matrix .Place some towels underneath the pipes as there will be some coolant left in the matrix. Remove the two rings that hold the pipes connected. These might be covered in a black sticky material. Disconnecting the pipes might require some force. Now you can remove the matrix to clean it. You need to unscrew 3 screws to remove the heating matrix. On my other car i had to remove the hole dashboard.

Hello Cosmin,

I believe that in Moldova you drive on the right hand side of the roads, so is your Rover also LHD?

Thanks for the geographical correction Cosmin. I blame Google!

Well this is a surprise. It appears that the heater coolant pipes pass through the bulkhead on the opposite side of the car to RHD models. How strange.

After reading through all these posts it seems the normal problem of a partially blocked matrix applies here.

Funny that, Simon, the pipes entering the matrix from the opposite side to a RHD car.---

The air intake for climate control unit is on the oposite side so it makes sense for the whole unit to mirror those from RHD. The matrix is the same but on a mirored position.

Small off topic question. I have a leaking power steering pipe behind the engine, above the steering rack. Is there any connector that might have come loose or is it the hose itself?
