Default EGR Pipe

If I disconnect the vacuum pipe from the EGR and block it off with a bolt or something, will I need to block the tube that the vacuum slots on to?
I assume with the pipe disconnected and blocked the EGR valve won't open and gets rid of the threat of sticking open and leading to my tick over problems.

Yes, thats how mine has been for 4 years. Just block the pipe to it.

Hi Al.
You can use another little bit of hose, add a bolt with the head cut off, or a solid piece of plastic as in the photo below, then just push the original hose onto it, of cause all this is pointless if your manifold is full of gunk, the MAP sensor will most likely also be blocked or at least caked over with gunk.

It is best if your manifold is clean inside like this below.

The MAP sensor like this.

As opposed to this below side by side comparison

This of cause only my opinion.

Easier to just unplug the control valve.
