Your photo of the MG7 plinth looks convincingly like a regular octagon to me. That's why I fear the alternate short-straight/long-curved sided design won't fit nicely in the socket. It may actually not fit at all.

It does appear to be a regular octagon TC, the recess base is slightly convex however, but this should not affect badge mounting, will get a plate made up soon (ish)

First retro fit complete, pics are on the guide on the community site

Looks good and not too difficult I think. I remain cautious of the proposed rover badge. I hope the manufacturer has the socket dimensions of the MG7 plinth. Your photo of it would do. It would be a great pity to have them made to the wrong shape. I'm now saving up to order the bits.

Steve, if you can make a template of the badge size as suggested and then let me have it that would be good as i have had this back from the manufacturer today and paying the tooling costs up front would cost us £120

" We would have to have the tooling made in order to do this for you. Everything Is made from scratch you see so we do not already have a tool that can clip out a badge the same size and shape as our design. If you could send me an existing badge or something then we can match the size pretty much exactly for you "

And a fantastic post it is too :-)

Thank you for an informative post Devilish - removing the Cyclonic grey part from under the badge plinth is a master stroke! Makes the grille look so much better.

Arise Sir Devilish that is a fantastic guide with some great pics and I agree looks much better without the extra bit under the badge

So the long long standing problem of not finding a chrome grille is now solved at last !

The Rover Badge is now a goer so as soon as you have cut a template to size let me know and i will send to the manufacturer, in the meantime if anyone else wants a badge please post on this thread
