Default Seat bolts torx/torxP/ribe

I'm in the process of removing my front seats - quite simple you say!

Well, I've read many of the threads relating to this and found that there are various thoughts on what type of head is on the four retaining bolts (runners to floor) on each seat.

First, I tried the standard T50 torx bit, now this seemed to be a loose fit, but as suggested I tried downward pressure but the bolts were in so tight that I was aware that I could be rounding the head/slots - so decided to stop.

Second, read a thread that said these bolts are actually torx plus - so bought a t50 torq plus bit this seemed to fit but did not go all the way down the slots in the head, again used downward pressure and agian felt that the head would round if I persevered - so I stopped.

Yet another thread stated that these were in fact ribe type bolts - can anyone confirm this? And if they are ribe what size please?

I see from many of the threads that several people have managed quite straight forwardly with the standard T50.

The bolts on my seats are very very tight - I'm using a half inch drive and a long sustantial torque wrench.

So what's the correct type of bolt on these fixings please?

Tommy :-)

They are T50 Try spraying some WD40 or similar and leave to soak for a couple of hours, also check if there is anything in the top of the torx screw stopping the torx bit going in enough to get a good bite

Thanks Hodgy

Not, the answer I wanted to hear T50 is just too loose to be correct size for the bolts I have.

I have tried release fluid though - didn't make any difference, I'm thinking I will have to get some heat on them :-(

Bolts are clean, no crud to stop the bit going in?

Oh meant to mention it's a facelift 75 I have.

Tommy :-)
