Default Scotland to break from the union.?

What do our Scottish members think of Alex Salmond's plan to break from the union and is there enough support north of the border for this to happen when the referendum is held.?

Very bad idea. Those who advocate going it alone should stop and think it out properly. My vote will be NO!

Not a good idea . . . although it depends what we get to keep i.e. North Sea gas and oil etc.

We rely entirely on being part of the UK. I don't think the numbers will add up for us to survive as an independent in the Uk.

Yes I agree with you guys.
Although it is OK to have The Scottish Parlaiment to handle Scottish affairs we should stay as part of the UK for all other aspects.

be interesting to know how alec (smug) salmond is going to fund it, is,nt north sea gas and oil nearly dried up? not against idea in theory but why jump out the frying pan? at least till he reveals what his mater plan is. considering we,ve lost r.a.f leuchars and kinloss under him does he have one, after all he wont be able to blame anyone else if on our own.

I dont think the question is if we separate rather when we separate. I for one look forward to a time when Scotland is free of English rule. I also think that Wales and Ireland should be alowed to go there separate way's. The days of England ruling over other countrys are coming to an end. And before everyone starts jumping down my throat about the billions of pounds the English goverment pumps in to our economy ask yourself why. Surely in this day and age they would be glad to get rid of us. Why would you want to hold on to a country that you are wholely supporting.

A lot of the Oil and Gas if off the English coast anyway http://www.acorn-ps.com/web/page/oil...p.htm#notonmap

If you think of the cost of a new currency, Customs & Excise, Diplomats and embassies, an army, a navy and possible an air force as well.
