Would like members Input on GPS Issue
Hi folks , We have been struggling with a customers GPS issue for the last few days . For 6 months or so everything working flawlessly in the UK
He went to France for Holiday and shortly after arriving in France the GPS began to crash. There is no rhyme or reason to it, It will work for 2 hours and Crash, just disappear from the screen , no warnings and no messages. Then it will restart and maybe last for 5 minutes and crash. And then will start another time and last for 18 hours , then 45 minutes then an hour , well you get the idea ! We have changed the Maps , Changed the Program , Cleared caches and done a reset and a factory reset. The firmware is up to date and it still is happening. I am hoping that someone can shed some light as I am at a loss. No message , no memory issues and only in France (I am sure there will be a few digs there) Cheers and Merry Christmas to all ! |

Is there a screen where you can check how many satellites are seen?

Ah sorry, I thought it was crashing due to loss of GPS. Can't answer why the system would crash due to being in a different country. I take it there's no other electrical issues caused by the journey, battery charging ok etc

Agree, that looks like a damp or greasy sd card.
Try using a pencil eraser to clean the contact points on the sd card. |

It's the Americans cutting the French ability to use their GPS systems before they invade :xmas-smiley-024:

Coincidence I'd say. Can't blame the French for everything although it's tempting.
Just give the unit a good once over, clean all the contacts as suggested and see what happens. Or wait until back in the UK. If it works then, it's definitely dodgy radiation in France |

If it really only occurs in France, could it be the difference in climate, temperature, humidity, and even barometric pressure can do funny things to electronics.
