Default Rhodium MG badges question

On my new ZT, I thought the front & rear MG badges were faded until I read about rhodium. Can someone please confirm that they should in fact have a matt silver finish? Ta.

I'm still wondering about this. The Union flags also look faded and I'd like to replace all of them but would like to be sure first.

Anyone?

Those are faded originals by the looks of that pic. Definitely time for replacement, I changed all mine including the union flag badges as they were the same and the MG badges were stickers over the originals and looked pretty tatty too

Great, thanks Gary. I was almost sure that was the case. Where did you get yours?

Dougie.

I got mine from eBay Dougie, the MG badges are enamel which should last longer than the rubbish oe printed ones that peel and fade although I have heard of some bits of enamel badges falling out. Mine seem good and solid so time will tell.
I will check my history and find the seller(s) just the now.

Cheers for that Gary. His new MG badge item (https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/174359865150) shows them as more sliver than the beige/yellow on the ones you bought. Do you know if there are two types?

*Actually they're described as being for LE500-based colours. They're black & silver which I would say mine were originally (now only silver).

Dougie.

Aye they are the same size but different colour. Yours would originally look like this one in the link below, they just about all go this way. All the OE badges after sept 2002 (likely earlier though) did this and you can just make out the red left on your badges.

https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/274293904914

You can basically pick any colour that you prefer just find badges that are decent quality.

Got it.👍 Pretty rubbish OE quality then. My car's only done 29k! Thanks again.

Dougie.

Yep the OE ones were completely useless, I’m not sure if it was project drive or just the badges in general but yep better off colouring in one on paper and sticking it on with sellotape.
