Default Desperate for help to change door actuator

I have finally removed a front offside door actuator from a spare door but think I have done something wrong and so before I remove the one from my car, can you help me do the job properly?

I have attached 4Actuator.jpg

Bottom fixing.jpg

Top fitting.jpg pictures, can you tell me what I should have done with Top and Bottom Fixing? What should I do with the Cross peg?

The picture titles have not transferred.
The second picture is the bottom fixing
The third picture is the top fixing
The bottom picture is the cross peg

Undo this clip and leave the metal rod hanging in your door, if the rod comes out, it’s a whole heap of pain!

Make a note of how many threads are sticking out under the white clip on your door before you open the clip. when you refix the clip from the replacement lock onto the threaded bar, try to leave the same number of threads showing.

The crosspeg/dumbell/dogbone bar (it has a few names)is unique to the drivers door it is the connection between the door handle assembly and the lock assembly. it just pushes into either end, if you do not fit it you will lose the ability to open and lock the door with the key.

is it best to remove the window glass and frame when refitting an actuator?

Removing it was hard, putting it make just feels all the more difficult.

You don't need to remove the window glass or frame to remove/refit.

Before you refit the door card make sure the door opens and closes locks and unlocks from both inside and outside. if you get the white clip in the wrong place then it can render inside opening or outside opening or both inoperable.

Thank you guys for the advice, refitting was feeling daunting.

The weather I understand is not good this coming week so I may only get as far as removing the door card for a week or so.

thank you once again
