1.8 K series Turbo
Couple of questions about the above.
1) Is there a fuel return hose connection from the inlet manifold fuel rail? If so, where is it?! 2) The MAP sensor on the inlet manifold does another job, aswell as sensing manifold absolute pressure doesn't it? Providing the wiring is correct would it be suitable for a DTA ECU or should I look at installing another MAP sensor. Any help or advice is much appreciated. Many Thanks, Alex |

As far as I know only the diesel engines have common rail systems and therefore a return pipe. The K-series 1.8 have fuel injection.
The MAP sensor only does one job. The signal returned to the ECU by the MAP is used to calculate the amount of air available for combustion. It serves no other purpose to my knowledge but the ECU could well use the data it receives from the MAP for various things. Someone more knowledgeable on these sorts of things might be able to give you a better understanding than what I can give. |
