Default how lucky am i

had some work done on the v6 a few weeks ago.
cam belt ,water pumps and a service .

have drove it around since then with no problems . even had a few days away for eden camp meet doing over 400 miles over the few days .
well I had fitted a led temp gauge and its run between 93 and 95.
well today I had travelled about 5 miles and the warning on the led temp went off reading 110c . got to a car park as it hit 120 when the cars temp gauge shot up and dash lit up with over heat.
left it to cool down and as luck had it had liquid with me so topped up .and boy did It take some coolant .
as it is the garage I use was a mile away so drove it to him. after looking around found the bottom hose had come off. he had forgot to put the clip back on. so the hose was only push fit on .
so I have driven around 600 miles with the hose like that up and down motorways at 69.9 and it never moved. and it let go 1 mile from the garage .
so I think that was lucky and the new led temp gauge did its job with the early warning .
