Here is my go. Tried to get more of a sunset and a more moody graveyard feel. Many ways to process this pic to give it a different feel.

Good shot that gives a slightly eerie mood.

I feel I should have shouted BOOO!! behind you as you took it

Nice edit Paul

I have got various edits of the photo but thought I'd post the least played about with version to see what others can do/play

This one doesnt do it for me Jeff, although in saying that, it is very different from the usual brightly coloured shots, and that makes it stand out. I think this would win a British seaside summer themed competition, over the run of the mill brightly coloured painted huts type, because of that uniqueness. Talking of standing out, you need your sensor cleaned

I love these types of shots, although when I do them, I tend to convert them to an IR type effect, or a high grain contrast mono. But this is again so different. The colours are sublime, and so well balanced. Have you put this through an HDR process? If not, that sensor is even better than I ever thought. The inner wall of the building, I would have expected a little more shadow from another camera.

I do prefer this in colour, but if you havent tried an IR effect, and want to, try channel mixer, input these figures 36,31,33 , then duplicate the background as a layer, go to filters and add diffuse glow, experiment with the opacity until you get the ethreal effect.

EDIT. Had a little play around with the IR and BW. Definitely colour! It is just flat and lifeless in monochrome. The colours are definitely what make this shot for me.

When I looked at the 2nd shot it reminded me of the IR effect and other film emulation settings I used to apply to some of mine before I had RAW, I found these channel mixer, film emulation settings. May be of use to someone.

Hi Alan,

I forgot to blemish remove the dust bunnies on that picture of the beach hut

It's a nothing shot really so posted it up to see if anyone would comment .

The picture of the abandoned church is pretty much straight off the camera so really is the sensors own work

I have got quite a few edits of it including HDR effect and B&W conversions but I still come back to the original myself.

I think after seeing Paul's edit I might go and play some more with it when I get a chance and try some of your suggestions out

That is very good indeed. I just wondered if how it would look with more whisker and maybe less overhead. I find it hard to visualise crops,. I find it far easier with the picture in my software. Of course if more whisker is shown you will most likely zoom out from the eyes which look great as they are.

I will not be surprised if it looks worse (maybe you shot it like that and cannot show more whisker)

Great shot though

Edit: The B & W looks great.

Edit:Edit: I nearly always brighten the eyes of an animal in Lightroom using the adjustment brush. Usually looks better but not always. Not one for the straight out of the camera purists

Cheers Paul,

I did manipulate the photo but didn't touch the eyes in this case.

Here is a colour shot sporting a looser crop

I am torn between both, however, the colour one would edge it because the colours compliment each other.

I would crop the top sixth of each photo out, and the black and white one crop close to the whiskers to the right hand side, which should square of the image, as well as giving a balance.

still the coloured one is just ahead.
