Default Driver's Electric Window, not moving

Hi all,
Earlier today, i went to put my driver's window down and it was playing up. Seemed to be loose from the runner. It would catch on and off, then sometimes when the switch was pressed down, the window would go up and vice versa.

Now the window is fully down, and won't go up at all. I can hear the motor still working when the button is pressed, however the window isn't moving at all.
The noise doesn't sound too pleasant. Quiet metally, a bit like foil.

If it makes any difference, since I bought the motor (Jan 2017), when you first put the window down from fully up, there's a while screech, sounds like something being ground into the window.

Any help would be much appreciated, as without a garage, and Northern Irish weather, I would like it sorted before any heavy rain comes our way! Haha

Thanks in advance,
Rķan P

Hopefully that's all it is. I'm sure I'll have a better idea when I talk the door card off but I'm just looking to see what people think, and thus what parts are needed before I start taking anything off.

Thanks!

Just buy complete motor and fit it, believe you can buy cable itself on Ebay if you want to go down that road

After taking door card off, and peeling back insulation bit, it's clear to see that a cable, coming from the top left of the door is snapped.

I've seen the repair kits on e-bay, and was just wondering if they're any use? Or would I be as well buying a full assembly from a scrap yard?

Thanks

I had the same problem with the passenger door. Got a second hand mechanism from a local scrap yard for a tenner. Fixed in less than an hour

Probably less hassle just getting the full mechanism to be fair!

Renault Laguna's have similar problem, have fixed them with kits from ebay but, I could never get them just so..fit a second hand set much easier, test it first..

Fair enough, suppose it's like anything. Other than original, some aftermarket won't be exactly the same.

Got a mechanism from a breaker today. Hopefully maybe fit it tomorrow.
