timing belt change
thanks people for all the comments,except one.i have it booked in atFreelander specialist as guided by Tracker.it's just a few miles from me.when i spoke to them,they seem very able and have done many of the KV6 engines.as soon as i said what i had,they knew exhactly what i was talking about

That's great news - the KV6 isn't the easiest for belts, and when overdue they sometimes (not always, granted) fail causing quite a lot of damage.
The main bearing of the waterpump in my ZS180 let go earlier this year - resulting in a 150 mile recovery and a rather painful bill at the end (although I have done KV6 belts, I'd rather not if I can avoid it - so left this to someone else). Luckily I stopped when I did - it was chewing through the impeller!

My unipart replacement waterpump did exactly the same just before its 6yr anniversary.
